Brights Up

Are you in the mood to spice up your wardrobe with bright colors this summer? Well, if you are this is the post for you. If your closet current holds dull colors such as black, dark brown, dark gray, it's time for change. Let's switch to a more vibrant, live, and energetic you.

It’s the bright colors such as yellow, blue, green, pink, orange, and red that's making it on the shelves and racks of retail stores. Even in the fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan models are showing off the bright colors in the magazines as well as on the front page of these magazines.

I have been shopping lately and I just could not resist the trendy bright colors that have everyone wanting to buy them. My favorite store that I choose to shop in is Charlotte Russe. Charlotte Russe have all possible colors in clothing, shoes, jewelry, belts, and underwear. Sometimes I do not know what shirt or pants to choose because I want them all.

A post entitled The Bold & The Beautiful by Virenda Mendoza, gives a few examples of the bright colors by providing pictures of shoes, handbags, and belts. Ms. Mendoza also assures you that these bright colors will be back every spring and summer so don't panic.

I think everyone should head out to the stores or shopping malls and buy bright color clothing to spice up your summer. I already have my bright colors, so when are going shopping for your brights?

The Couture Collection

Is there a story that each fashion designer would like to tell? Is there a story that lies within the fabric or is it how the clothing is made? Well Christian Dior answers this question without any hesitation.

During Fashion Week in Paris, Christian Dior unleashed his storyline couture collection of spring 2007. His wonderful collection leaves you with a sense of taste for colors, style, trend, and culture. His Japanese, geisha style clothing are not your ordinary clothes that you would wear everyday. Dior’s couture collection is based more on a business wear to formal wear. The shapes and forms of these dresses are magnificent and they are nicely designed with the right fabric. Not only are the dresses and two piece suits are extravagant but the models are also into character and I think they did a wonderful job portraying the memoirs of a geisha.

Throughout my life I have never seen a collection well put together as this one. I don’t even have to mention the dresses, take a look for yourself. Each of these dresses has a unique story to be told. Fashion Nation shows a recap of Christian Dior’s spring 2007 as he defines the collection as superhuman.

Alexandra Suhner, London editor of Fashion Trendsetters claims that Dior’s Couture collection possesses stunning shapes and hand-work, beautiful embroideries and beading, amazing shoes, stunning colors, fantastic hats, unbelievable make-up, and an astonishing theatrical set.

These couture dresses and suits are quite fabulous. I wish I was able to buy one of these couture dresses. Would you wear one these suits are dresses?

All About The Benjamins

As I walk through the D.E.M.O. clothing store in the Edison Mall, I pondered about the difference in the brand named clothing and eventually make up my mind about what I wanted to buy. My three brand named choices were narrowed down to the designers: Baby Phat, G-Unit, and Apple Bottoms. As I pondered to make a decision, I also asked myself why musicians/rappers need to market their own clothing line. I did not understand why musicians/rappers who already have millions of dollars would want to create a clothing line to make more money. Then it appeared to me that everyone needs money even if they have enough money to last them a lifetime.

You may have a job that is your primary job or your only job. What happens when you need more money for extra bills or emergencies that are unexpected? Most people apply for second jobs or they have to double their hours at work to have enough money for the extra bills or for the unexpected.

Amanda Hill a social affairs correspondent makes a complaint about Celebrity Labels Are Taking the Invention out of Fashion.

I do not believe celebrities are taking the invention out of fashion. I do believe celebrities are adding value, time, and commitment to the fashion industry. While celebrities put forth their time and efforts trying to give the world the newest trends and styles, obviously the celebrities want something in return. In order to gain profit from anything, you must put in work.

Celebrities are considered Public Relations and Advertisement tools for the fashion industry. Celebrities market their own fashion creations by designing clothes, performing in fashion shows, and also performing on television shows and talk shows such as The Tyra Banks Show. I do believe their creation is adding value to the fashion industry. While the celebrities are in the spot light showing the world their creations, there are people like me and you going out to the mall looking for the same clothes to make us look fly.

I have realized that even though celebrities make more money than you and I, they too may need another means of bringing home money to take care of their family as well as themselves. If I was able to make the money celebrities make and also have another avenue to make extra money, I would do it without a hesitation. What about you?

All Anorexia Fashion Models Please Stand Up

Are fashion models endangering themselves because of the weight requirement pressure of the fashion industry or is it the models natural weight and decision to be very thin?

In a post entitled The Incredible Shrinking Model, Emily Nussbaum interviews a few fashion models who think that the fashion industry limits them to weight requirements. Some of the fashion models think the opposite of the fashion industry. Which side will you
believe?

Nussabaum had the chance to interview fashion models such as Nataliya Gotsii, Natalia Vodianova, and Anna Wintour. Each of the models believes that the criticism they are getting from the media is ridiculous. They feel that they are thin because they grew up in an environment where food was not a big issue as long as the food was healthy. Most models come from countries that are the poorest countries and there is not a lot of food for the amount of money their parents earn. Most of the models that come from other countries are very young. Modeling agencies hire models starting at the age of fourteen. Anna Wintour proclaims that this is how they take care of themselves and families back home.

Some modeling agencies believe being thin is healthy and being thin gets the model jobs. Most modeling agencies prefer models weight to be at least 106 pounds or under depending on the height of the model. A theory that model agencies have is that “models need to be skinny because they need to be invisible. Clothing stands out best when the body is a blank”. But can being blank be a bit much on the models? Fashion model Nataliya Gotsii share some examples with Nussabaum about how the weight requirements and eating disorders can harm models. In August of 2006, a fashion model named Luisel died after being on a restricting diet of lettuce and Diet Coke. In November of 2006, a Brazilian fashion model Ana Carolina Reston died weighing just 88 pounds.

In a post entitled Fat is a Fashion Issue by Caroline Weber, Fashion designer Valentino Garavani uses the term normal women to describe his models. Garavani think that models that are too thin are like skeletons.

It is believed that these models will do anything such as almost kill themselves and I think it is all because the money is great, they get to explore and travel to see different cities and countries, and they can now help to support their family.

The Illusion of Facial Features

When I was in high school, I did not care about what earrings I wore and how they made me look. Now that I am older, fashion trends are rapidly changing and I am constantly trying to keep up with the latest style. Fashion designer Janice Wee tells all about how to choose earrings to match the perfect outfit.

In a post entitled Choosing Earrings That Enhance Your Face Shape, Janice Wee shares her secrets. She tells how to give the illusion of a slimmer face, a wider face, and how to sharpen or soften facial features. Wee has a list of different shapes of earrings that will give you the effect that you’re looking for.

As I walked through Edison Mall today, I found it very difficult to find earrings that would give my face the illusion of a slimmer face. In order to give the illusion of a slimmer face, Wee suggest earrings such as shoulder dusters or chandelier earrings. After finding a pair of chandelier earrings of my liking, they made my face look thin and I was more noticeable with them on. I noticed that I was less noticeable with my diamond studs. Chandelier earrings also highlighted my cheekbones and gave me the illusion to my facial features.

In another post entitled How Do You Choose a Pair of Diamond Earrings, Wee gives advice on choosing the design of earrings that enhances your facial features. In this post she talks about diamond earrings and the styles of diamond earrings. Wee believes that each design of earrings will give you a different illusion to match your facial features.

In order for me to portray the illusion of a slimmer face to match with my facial features, I should buy shoulder dusters or chandelier earrings. Next time when you’re thinking about earrings and what type you should wear, ask yourself what is your face shape? This question will help you choose the illusion you want and also enhance your facial features.

The Illusions of Faces

In a blog entitled Choosing Earrings That Enhance Your Face Shape, Janice Wee proclaims that the choice of earrings can give the illusion of a slimmer face or it can give the illusion of a wider face.

To make your face look wider Wee suggests wearing circular design earrings. Choose the circular earrings of your choice. They maybe beaded or made of wood, any choice of style will work in order to give the illusion that you desire.

For a wider face or square like face, try wearing earrings that have length. The illusion of length makes the face appear to be slim and lengthy.

As Wee give suggestions on how to enhance your face shape, take into consideration the next time you're putting on your clothes and accessories for a special occasion. Remember if you want the illusion of a wider face wear lengthy earrings and if you want the illusion of a slim or narrow face wear circular earrings.
